flickr is the best image host service next to yahoo photos. Once you are a registered user, you can upload the photos by e-mailing it to the address given to you. You can also use the bookmarklet to post a photo that you see online. Once it's in your album, you can create sets and organize your photos. Use Tags in the description so that it will be easy to find the photos later. If you decide to publish your photos, you can give a URL to your friends or a RSS feed. Tag based RSS feeds are available as well! What's more, you can even post your photos on blogger or livejornal blog. It means you can turn any blog into a moblog - just like that!

I am a slashdot member for last few months. I had commented on one of the posts there. A few days back I tried to find that post but there was no easy way to go to the page or read the comment I had posted. I learned it today that just by adding your username after http://slashdot.org/~ will be taken to your personal home page!

1) When you write for a magazine, explicitly or not you adjust your style to match your readers' expectations. And, if you don't, your editor will do it for you. Writing a blog is different, and not just because the blogger gets to set the guidelines and expectations, although that's a big deal in itself.
2) A magazine is a filter not just of news and views, but of readers. Weblogs filter readers the way people filter friends.
3) Mass media write for mass audiences. Bloggers write for people who know them.
